We are...

… an alternative rock band from Nijmegen (The Netherlands).

We play our own tracks with great enthusiasm, covering themes close to our world, often provocative and humorous. From the man flu to excessive garlic consumption, and from the Turbo Polyp (a fun fair ride) to the crooks in American and Dutch politics. Our live show is energetic and danceable. With our diverse lineup we put on a varied show, alternating between somewhat heavier progressive rock tracks and more atmospheric intermezzo’s (and everything in between).

We’d love to take you home with us see you soon at one of our gigs!

Band Members

Allow ourselves to introduce… ourselves…

Celine

Celine

Celine, also known as the band's beloved 'sea lion', is one of two main vocalists. She is known for her fierce mind- and ear drum blowing power notes. When Majoke is the Yang, Celine is most definitely the Yin of the gang. Rock 'till you drop!

Majoke

Majoke, is the other main vocalist of the band. She is also a great singer and works in another part of the spectrum awesome. She introduces 'finesse' to the filthy rock of The Lesser Gods.

Majoke

Jelle

Jelle

Jelle is the savage boss behind the drums and is known to add mysterious or bluntly disturbing audio samples to the tracks. Jelle is also the master of the hardware and logistics. Or as the Dutch would say: the 'rock in the burning', with an emphasis on rock AND burning.

Thomas

Thomas is the bass player of the band and thereby has the biggest string instrument of all. In the highly competitive band that The Lesser Gods is, this somehow always has to be mentioned one way or another. He loves to design background choirs with songs but also does some great main vocals himself, although we're still trying to decipher the language in which he does.

Thomas

Robert

Robert

Robert plays the keyboard and is the technical engineer that makes it all work. Robert is involved in the composition of many of the songs, always in for new sounds and patterns. Robert surely knows how to hit some Dim7 chords on his virtual hammond organ.

Joris

Joris' somewhat calm appearance is compensated for by the well controlled severe noise he and his pedalboard extract out of his guitar.

Joris

Joep

Joep

It is widely assumed that Joep learned his guitar playing, and whatever else he's doing on stage, by following an online seminar on an unrelated topic. Nevertheless, he just might be the rug that ties the band together.

Roel

Behind the stage, Roel is the 'Charlie Runkle' of the gang. As far as we know, he doesn't play any instrument whatsoever, and that's cool. Roel was a fan of The Lesser Gods even before it was cool, and helps the band out in organisation and communication.
